One lucky punter could take home a record-breaking Lotto haul with $100million up for grabs on Tuesday night in the largest prize pool in more than a decade.

Up to a third of Australian adults are expected to buy a ticket for the bumper Oz Lotto draw.

The jackpot is the largest since 2012, when the prize was split four ways.

However, if the full prize goes to a single person, they would become Oz Lotto's richest ever winner.

Khat McIntyre, from The Lott, said whoever won the prize would receive a call they would remember for the rest of their lives.

'Reactions we often hear when breaking the life-changing news include screams of excitement, หวยฮานอย cries of joy or bursts of laughter,' she said. Sixteen lotto winners scooped up more than $323million in the past financial year.

An Adelaide man became Australia's largest-ever individual lottery winner in May, when he claimed the $150million Powerball prize.

It was the third-largest lottery prize in Australian history, behind a $200million Powerball win shared between two people in February and a $160million jackpot in 2022 split between three ticket holders.

The Lott spokesman Matt Hart revealed the most commonly drawn numbers in OzLotto history are 47, 21, 28 and 33.

The least-drawn 'cold' numbers are 34, 26, 45 and 43.

'This could be their night to shine. They're the underdogs. You never know, they could very much come out on top tonight and deliver that prize to someone out there.'

Gambler's Help puts the chance of taking the first-division Oz Lotto prize, by getting all seven numbers correct, at less than one in 62 million.

That compares to an estimated one in 1.2 million chance of getting hit by lightning in any given year, according to US researchers.
